Okay, so I told you I am not a DYI person. Many, many years ago I painted my boys room blue. A friend told me to use high gloss paint because everything would wash off and she was right. However, when my girls moved into the room this fall, I thought I would change the color, so I chose a beautiful shade of yellow. I painted the yellow on and it slid right back off of the walls. After a frustrating hour or two I realized it was probably the high gloss paint that was causing the problem. Since I was using a paint and primer all in one I figured one more coat would probably fix the problem and if not, two would for sure. Three coats of paint later the walls looked better, but still really bad. So I went to Home Depot and asked them what I should do. They told me I needed to killz the whole room. Let it dry at least 24 hours and paint again. Well I painted the whole room with killz and it looked worse, I was really worried. My older daughter asked at this point if we could paint her room pink instead of yellow and I thought why not I have to buy more paint anyhow. After letting the paint dry for three days, I painted it this beautiful color of pink. In total it took me three months from start to finish. I haven’t felt like painting again.....
